On September 19, 2019, Leonard Segal presented a webcast on the new Minnesota and Minneapolis Wage Theft Laws

You may have heard about Minnesota’s new wage theft law, which took effect on July 1, 2019.  But, did you know Minneapolis also recently passed a wage theft ordinance?  It did, and it is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2020.

But what is wage theft and what do these new laws require of employers?  Quite a bit, actually, including new requirements for notices to employees and what needs to be on an earnings statement (pay stub), as well as new recordkeeping requirements.
