On March 19, 2014, Minnesota Continuing Legal Education hosted Starting Your Own Solo or Small Firm – and Doing it Right! Leonard Segal once again served as the Course Chair for this terrific program designed to help both experienced and new attorneys who are starting, or thinking about starting, their own law practice. Over 110 attorneys attended the program and received practical, real-world tips and advice .
In addition to chairing the program, Lenny moderated the ever popular panel of lawyers who have started their own practice. The panel provided an excellent opportunity for attorneys to learn from the trials and tribulations of peers who have “been there” and know what it takes to start and run a law firm.
Jon Schindel and Scott Seiler made a return engagement to discuss selection of a business entity for a new law firm. Going beyond the basics, Scott and Jon helped attendees analyze the legal, practical and ethical considerations when making this important decision.
The March 19, 2014, program featured some “back by popular demand” topics as well as several new sessions, along with both returning and new speakers. This program is consistently well attended and well received and we encourage any lawyer who is thinking about starting a practice to attend this program when it is offered in the future!
