New Vaccine Mandate Coming for Private Sector Employers

This afternoon, President Biden announced significant new COVID-19 requirements that will impact millions of workers in the private sector. While details are yet to be announced, here are a couple of key things you should know as it relates to private sector employers:

  1. OSHA is developing a rule that will require all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure their workforce is fully vaccinated or require any workers who remain unvaccinated to produce a negative test result on at least a weekly basis before coming to work.
  2. Such employers will be required to provide paid time off for the time it takes workers to get vaccinated or to recover if they are not feeling well post-vaccination.
