Minnesota employers, be ready for another minimum wage hike! On August 1, 2015, the minimum wage in Minnesota for large employers ($500,000 or more in annual gross revenues) will increase to $9.00 per hour. On the same day, the minimum wage for small employers (less than $500,000 in annual gross revenues) will increase to $7.25 per hour, matching the federal minimum wage. Although there are certain circumstances under which these rates do not apply, for the vast majority of Minnesota employers and employees, these are the rates that should be applied.
This is the second year in a row that the minimum wage will increase in Minnesota. Rates will increase again on August 1, 2016 (to $9.50 for large employers and $7.75 for small employers), and again on January 1, 2018, and each year thereafter based on inflation.
