Leonard Segal presented on the FMLA at Minnesota CLE’s 2021 Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute

The 2021 Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute took place virtually on May 24-25, 2021.  It was co-sponsored by Minnesota Continuing Legal Education, the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Law Section, and the Twin Cities Human Resource Association.

Leonard Segal is a regular presenter at the Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute.  This year, he presented a session entitled FMLA Basics – What You Need to Know About FMLA Eligibility, Coverage, and Leave Requirements.  In this session, which was geared to those new to the FMLA or who needed a refresher, Lenny addressed all aspects of the Family and Medical Leave Act, from employee eligibility and employer coverage thresholds, to leave requirements, to posting and recordkeeping.  In addition, Lenny addressed the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act, which was part of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

Attendees of this year’s Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute certainly learned a lot, received the latest information in the ever-changing world of employment law, and received great resource materials.  For further information about this year’s program, please click this link: 2021 Upper Midwest Employment Law Institute.

If you attended this year, we hope you had a great time and found the ELI to be a great experience.  Hopefully, next year we can be back in person!
